Hours After Sunset (“we,” “us,” or “our”) hosts renegade electronic music events in the Sacramento and Bay Areas and operates hoursaftersunset.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices — especially for our SMS text alert program.
Information we collect
- SMS opt-in: mobile phone number and the fact that you consented to receive texts, when you submit the text alerts form.
- Booking requests: name, email, and any details you voluntarily send through the booking form.
- Basic technical data: standard web logs and security data from our host (for example Cloudflare), such as IP address and browser type, used to run and protect the site.
SMS / text message program
You can opt in to receive SMS text messages from Hours After Sunset in either of these ways:
- Website: at hoursaftersunset.com/#texts, enter your mobile number and check the required box expressly consenting to receive recurring SMS messages from Hours After Sunset; or
- Text keyword: text HOURSAFTER (or START, YES, UNSTOP, LETSGO, AFTERS) to (916) 384-4888. That keyword call-to-action is shown publicly on the same page (and may appear in Instagram posts or QR codes pointing to it).
After opting in, we may send event-related SMS messages — including pin drops, schedule updates, weather or venue calls, day-of reminders, and related crew announcements.
Message frequency: message frequency varies. You may receive roughly 1–8 messages per month, and more around active event weeks (for example a reminder before a night and a same-day pin). We do not send daily marketing spam.
Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier’s standard messaging and data rates may apply to messages you send or receive. Hours After Sunset does not charge a fee to join the text list; your carrier may. Consent is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.
Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help. After you opt out, you may receive one final confirmation message.
How we use mobile numbers (non-sharing)
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your mobile phone number with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Numbers collected for SMS alerts are used only to operate our own Hours After Sunset text program (sending the messages you opted into) and to manage opt-outs.
We may use service providers who process data on our behalf solely to deliver those messages and host our systems (for example our SMS gateway and website host). Those providers are not permitted to use your number for their own marketing.
How we use other information
- To run the website and security protections
- To respond to booking or contact requests you submit
- To improve events and communications
- To comply with law or enforce our Terms
Retention
We keep SMS subscriber records while you remain opted in. After you opt out, we retain what we need to honor the opt-out and meet legal or operational requirements, then delete or de-identify when no longer needed.

Children
Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do. Continued use of the site or text program after an update means you accept the revised policy.
